I’m Kendall Carlson, Founder & Principal at Luminate Consulting.

I have spent my career serving nonprofits across the Twin Cities and always seem to find myself working at the intersection of programs and advancement.

With Strategic, Activator, Relator, and Arranger as my top strengths, I bring a balance of visionary and operational leadership that spans fundraising, program development, evaluation, and strategic planning.  I love to write, research, analyze, and arrange information to create compelling narratives and lift up insights that drive strategy, engage donors, and elevate programs. I thrive in new territory, looking for possibilities, making connections, and identifying solutions that drive results.

During my time at Greater Twin Cities United Way, I led the advancement strategy for the organization’s top institutional and individual donors and partnered with program teams to design and raise support for new community initiatives.

While serving as Development and Communications Director at Hired, I sustained an $11M organizational budget, diversifying revenue and increasing individual giving, while also launching a new brand and initiating an organizational evaluation strategy.

Ultimately, I love to partner with people who are committed to making our community better for everyone. And I started Luminate Consulting to do just that.
